The language arts curriculum involves many components that are designed to provide students with opportunities to develop skills in all of the language arts components: Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Viewing, and Representing.
We will aim to touch on the following areas: novel studies, short stories, poetry, spelling, grammar, reader’s theater, T.U.S.C., book reports, speeches, writing an essay and research projects. We will be reading The Giver and Underground to Canada.
We are nearing the end of the school year, and have two topics left to cover. We are currently working on writing essays, which will take us into May, and then we will be looking at "Fractured Fairy Tales." The final exam will cover the topics since our last exam, and students will be receiving an outline in class in mid-May.
